Christmas' Dreamer

Apparently, God is a dreamer.

He used a baby and five dreams to wake the world.

First, Joseph is told in a dream to marry Mary. Secondly, the magi are alerted through a dream to return a different way so as to avoid Herod. Third, Joseph is warned in a dream to get up and take Jesus and Mary to Egypt. Fourth, The Lord tells Joseph to go back to the land of Israel. Fifth, Joseph is instructed in a dream to stay away from Judea and go to Galilee.

A dream can be a portal to heaven and yet Herod receives no such dreams because his kingdom is not that of heaven. So, for those intent on killing Jesus in the first century or twenty-first century, they will see no portals to heaven because they have put themselves on the throne. Their portal will, like a mirror, only give them a view backwards. They will not see through and upwards.

But for seekers who have found the humility of The Baby, God will give them portals even while they sleep.

Mary probably saw this as she held her babe innumerable times. Perhaps, she’d lovingly stare as his eyes rolled under his eyelids and wonder, “What on earth are you dreaming about?”

She would find that dreams on earth can be the dreams of heaven.

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: God wakes us up to dream.

He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds…Who can fathom the mind of the Lord?...For all that exists originates in Him, comes through Him, and is moving toward Him; so give Him the glory forever…But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. Job 33:15 NLT, Romans 11:34-36 VOICE, Luke 2:19 NIV
