I had a great time yesterday! I stopped in to see my daughter and granddaughter. Stella, my granddaughter, is so much fun. We played peek-a-boo where she’d hide under some pillows then push them off with a shriek of joy.
She does this backing up thing where she backs up to whatever she would like to sit on and then plops down on it. With me sitting on the floor, I became the object she tries to sit on. Doing that backing up thing, she sits down on me, we’d wrestle, I’d tickle her, she’d run off and … we’d repeat the process over and over again. It was such a great joy.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me … for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Can you imagine what the joy will be like when we are with our Father in heaven? I guess I really can’t understand what it will be like that day when we step from this life into one with constant contact with God. What I do know, Jesus is going to return to take us home to be with him. (John14:3) Then we will dwell with God forever. (Revelation 21:3)
Maybe we should prepare for that time to come by spending as much time as we can with Him now, for such belongs the kingdom of heaven.
Prayer: Lord, please continue to be patient with us. Please continue to draw us closer to yourself. Lord help us to become like little children longing to be with You.
