More Than Stars Watch Over Us

I’m on the Interstate and I’m passing an army caravan of camouflage-color jeeps and transports on the way to my appointment.

Right now, they are stateside. I wonder what their next "appointment" or deployment will be.

Perhaps they will never see any life-threatening action or maybe they will experience a close call in training.

All I know is that I’ll be sitting on a couch in about an hour, safe from any threats because over 200 years of commitment from our servicemen and women.

That seems like too good of a deal.

Right now, our troops are in virtually every corner of the world. If you’re like me, you wake up, sip your coffee or tea, might even complain if there’s too much cream or sugar because the gal didn’t get it right. Then you really risk your life taking out the garbage, stretching for a lightbulb change or putting in some extra hours at the office. You might tuck yourself in or, if you’re fortunate, someone lies next to you as you turn off the light.

All the while, there are convoys and bases and flights and fights of which we are unaware.

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: Someone is always vigilant on our behalf whether we are aware of it or not. Of whom does this remind you of?

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, watching the evil and the good…Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood…The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever…I am watching over My word to perform it…Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
