What Was God Thinking When He Fell? EDITOR’S NOTE: While you may or may not be familiar with “The Stations of The Cross,” it might be the perfect timing to “walk” with Christ through his passions as many people are suffering and others have time on their hands during the Corona-crisis. The Stations divide Jesus' walk to Calvary into fourteen scenes or meditative "Stations." Jesus Falls For The Second Time This is Station 7 in The Stations of The Cross: The Corona-crisis has brought the world to its knees. In particular, the United States has been humbled by an enemy it can’t even see. It’s one thing for an individual to fall. It’s another thing for a country to fall. Crashing and burning happens to anyone who happens to be human. In the Seventh Station of The Stations of The Cross, Jesus falls for the second time. While there is no evidence to show this as fact and The Stations list three times as the number of Jesus’ falls, I would be shocked if he didn’t stumble more than that on the way to Calvary. How could God put Himself in a position to fall at all? The humanity instilled in The Trinity is beyond imagination. While we are used to thinking, “How does God think?” or “What Would Jesus Do?,” God plans a way to answer, “What would a man encounter?” This reversal is one of the most poignant parts of the sweat that ran as blood. PORTAL TO HEAVEN: Even the most poisoned skeptic or a child who understood nothing of theology would probably suffer at seeing the marred Christ fall. That’s the only “body” of evidence either would need to fall in love with Jesus. Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!...For though a righteous man may fall seven times, he still gets up Phillippians 2:6-8 NIV, Proverbs 24:16 BSB Comments: norepcom@gmail.com
