Refuse To Be In The Weeds: The Corona Garden

Updated: May 25, 2020

THIS WEEK: Viruses

The corona-crisis has produced growth in me…literally. The weeds around my house have become a garden.

If it wouldn’t be in poor taste, I’d call it the “Corona Garden” so that when I walk by or fuss with it, I’ll remember that God causes growth in the valleys.

The garden represents a refusal to be bullied by a sudden turn of events. It’s a deliberate move in the opposite spirit of the prevailing times.

Many guests may enjoy the garden in the near and distant future and never know the story behind its strength and beauty.

Isn’t that a metaphorical X-ray of every character who allows God to work through their hard times?

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: Christ’s resurrection is victory over death. Oh, but what a price.

Not only so, but we[a] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope…Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything…Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. Romans 5:3 NIV, James 1:2-4 NIV, 1 Peter 4:12,13 NIV
