Seen Behind The Scenes?

2,500 individually-assembled candy bags stared us in the face at the Capital City Rescue Mission in Albany, NY.

How much care goes into doing something like that for just one meal? And to the tune of hundreds of meals on any given day, it’s not an atypical account of what volunteers and staff put into that ministry three-hundred sixty-five for there are no days off at a mission.

When the men and women receive their candy bag, they will have no inkling of the folks who raised the money, collected the cases from the regional food bank, unloaded the trucks, put the candy in the bags and made sure that the full-course turkey meal for hundreds was served up exactly at noon. Most of us struggle with prepping Turkey Day for 15-20 people.

No, the recipients cannot imagine the effort.

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: Right now, there are acts of service and intercessory prayer going up for us and our families’ salvation, health, provision, relationships and on and on it goes. We don’t see the spiritual preparation that our Heavenly Father is orchestrating in his kitchen along with his “volunteers” and “staff” in preparation so that the great banquet of Jesus Christ will be well attended.

First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all…you also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many. 1 Timothy 2:1, NASB, Corinthians 1:11, NASB
