Every natural and spiritual season has its colors. It won’t take your brain too long before its stirs up some relationship between a good, bad or indifferent memory and a certain color. A funeral might drum up the color black, a wedding white, a divorce gray, a newborn’s nursery blue or pink and so on.

November can begin to fade from vivid yellows to an insufferable gray.

But one thing remains consistent in its color: the sunrise.

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: God will almost always provide contrast that reassures us that his faithfulness never dulls. But sometimes, you must search for it, even if it means getting up early enough to see darkness turn into beauty.

I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall.I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me.Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope. Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.’ The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
