With all of the tricks of his sleeve, why did God limit us to just four seasons?
While we may never figure that one out, we can observe what they accomplish.
Summer is the season for completion in a lot of areas. It’s when you turn around and Mother Nature is like that adolescent niece or nephew that you haven’t seen for a few years and you declare, “My, how you’ve blossomed!” Only, Mother Nature doesn’t get embarrassed.
Wildlife has the run of the place and summer parks peak with swimmers and hikers and kayakers.
Outdoor concerts seem to be at every outpost along our historic Hudson River.
And even the toll booth collectors get extremely popular in July and August.
Observing the seasons and understanding why and when they are here are two different things.
It makes you wonder about the season your heart is in this very minute and if you can discern how to be the best trick up his sleeve for his next play.
PORTAL TO HEAVEN: For those in four-season or multiple-season climates, the metaphors of temperature, clothing and cultural happenings abound with each spin of the sundial. Use the period of time you are in to be God’s portal to heaven so that observers may properly interpret their own season.
And Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come.’… ‘You go to the festival. I am not going up to this festival, because my time has not yet fully come.’…‘Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, so that your Son may glorify you…’
