The "Tomb" of the "Known Soldier"...of Christ

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

This weekend we celebrate those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Men and women who have laid down their lives. Most every family has been touched by those serving in our military who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Maybe this a time that we should also remember the one who made the greatest sacrifice. A time of remembering Jesus and how he died for us while we were yet sinners. Jesus laid down his life for us, and he tells us in the Gospel of John chapter 15, that we too should lay down our lives for one another. That we should love one another as Jesus has loved us. That is not just for those who don't know Jesus, but especially for those who do know Jesus. We should be willing to lay down our lives for our brothers and

sisters in Christ. I believe the people who don't know Jesus yet, this is the church they're waiting to see.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You that You sent your son Jesus for us. Jesus, on this Memorial Day weekend, we remember you and how you gave yourself for us, and we are so grateful. Thank you Lord. Holy Spirit, we yield to you, have your way in us that we may be the people you want us to be. Lord, we need you so much. Father, we also pray for people who have lost loved ones in the wars over over the years. May you be the God of all comfort. Bring comfort to those who mourn loss. Thank you, Jesus. We love you.
