The Funeral That Wasn’t

One of the greatest funerals that ever took place never happened.

Some friends gathered to honor the man that they loved.

Unfortunately, the deceased was missing.

The funeral director, the graveyard workers and the friends were all scratching their heads.

Only a man who had arranged his own funeral could have pulled off such a prank.

The greatest portal to heaven ever was no prank. Death no longer could put a ceiling on our lives and eternity now became yesterday’s news.

Therefore, funerals should never be the same.

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: A life lived for Christ and his glory will feature a glorious portal at the funeral of a saint

‘The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after three days he will rise.’ But they did not understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him about it…Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord…Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Mark 9:31,32 NIV, 1 Corinthians 15:54-58 KJV, Psalm 116:15 ESV
