Could the Bride be the Bride as the bible describes?
This week some awesome corporate prayer services were held at New Hope Ministries in Albany. Various pastors and worship teams from several congregations gathered to seek God on behalf of Albany.
The first night Pastor Keith Davey asked the question, “Could the Bride be the Bride as the bible describes?” He went on to quote Philippians 2:1-5 (ESV) “So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.”
Let’s dream together. What would it be like if we had the same mind and love? What would it be like if we didn’t do anything from selfish ambition or conceit? Or if we counted others and their interests more significant than ours?
What would the Bride of Christ look like? Of even more importance and significance, what would be the impact in our society?
I believe that everyone, believers and non-believers alike, would be in awe of God! Then, maybe, we would witness an Awakening of biblical proportions.
Prayer: Lord, your desire for your Bride is clear. Give us a true love for one another. May we become the people who no longer live for themselves but for Him who, for their sake, died and was raised. (2 Corinthians 5:15 ESV)
