The (Good) Designer-God

Every new year is replete with new beginnings. It does not have to feel like we have a lot of desire-leftovers like a used auto lot has older or banged-up models. God is bringing us out of any captivity of the last year.

It is a new year. We must declare. Demarcations are good.

Since the new year is a slower time of the year in many northern climates, it is a good time to pause and ask God about the design of the year for it is a portal or gateway to something God has in store.

It may be a little vague at first or it may be something that’s been a deep desire for many years. The main thing is that we must recognize the goodness of God in this design for us or we will never approach it properly.

If you needed something at work and were sure the boss is going to give you a hard time, you would naturally be reticent. If you’re boss is a great person and has helped you succeed as you help him succeed, you approach him in quite a different fashion.

The latter is our Designer-God. He is building a kingdom internally and externally. The new year is as good a time as any to reignite our trust in His goodness and the passions He has set within us since the beginning of time.

Don’t let Satan infer that we are used models because God’s design is to get a lot of mileage out us.

PORTAL TO HEAVEN: We all bring things into the new year that are not going to be helpful for the year ahead. Let God detail us like dealers detail cars and leave the details to Him.

‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and will bring you back from captivity.

Jeremiah 29:11-14
